MEGAN JAYME TROOST IS A SINGER, ACTOR, MOVER, WRITER, CABARET ARTIST, MODEL, AND PRODUCER.
BORN AND RAISED IN METRO DETROIT, MICHIGAN, MEGAN HAS BEEN SINGING BEFORE SHE COULD TALK, AND DANCING BEFORE SHE COULD PROPERLY WALK.
HER LOVE OF PERFORMING CONTINUED INTO COLLEGE, WHERE SHE RECEIVED HER BFA IN ACTING AND A DANCE MINOR AT WESTERN MICHIGAN UNIVERSITY.
ON JULY 18, 2022, MEG OPENED HER FIRST EVER ONE-WOMAN SHOW, WORDS OF AFFIRMATION. THIS MARKED A TURNING POINT IN HOW SHE VIEWS AND CREATES ART. AFTER A SUCCESSFUL OPENING, SHE REMOUNTED THE SHOW ON SEPTEMBER 22, 2022.

In March of 2022, Megan was eager to use her creativity outside of audition season, while diving deeper into her self-love journey. She had something to say and she knew that she wanted — no, needed, to share it. Her love of disco inspired her during the dreary NYC winter, as songs of pure love and joy brought rays of sunshine to her days, lifting her up into an era of self-acceptance.
And what better way to combine her eager creativity, the highs and lows of a self-love journey, AND Donna Summer, than with:
A one-woman disco show.
Through powerful affirmation statements, real and raw stories from her life, and groovy hits, Meg led the audience on a cabaret journey centered on self-love, self-acceptance, empowerment, and joy. This project allowed Meg to explore and nurture parts of her creativity, while learning how to unabashedly love every part of herself, and ultimately became her performing mission statement.
Words of Affirmation was written, performed, and produced by Megan. It premiered at Don’t Tell Mama NYC on July 18, 2022, and was lated re-mounted at the same venue on September 22, 2022.
Megan hopes to create more projects like this in the future.
